Qualified Solicitor/Barrister authorised to Practise.
Ability to undertake workload with minimal supervision.
Possession of current practising certificate which is free of conditions.
A minimum of 3 years’ experience of practical legal work of which 2 years must have been gained in the relevant specialism.
General knowledge of Local Government law.
Understanding of current role of a Local Authority Legal Services Division.
Knowledge of the Law relating to specialist are of practice that placed in.
Knowledge of Standing Orders, finance and contract procedure rules.
Adaptable, flexible, dependable, able to work as part of a team within the Division and of a multi-disciplinary team.
Self-reliant, able to work on own initiative. Accurate, attentive to detail.
Able to absorb and understand detail quickly.
Able to understand complex legislation and reports.
