Contract and Procurement Lawyer – 14091

Salary: £55 per hour (Inside IR35)

Location: Luton

Contract Authority: Government Client
Contract Length: TBC - Part time – 20 hours per week.
Security Clearance: DBS

DESIRABLE:
• Experience of Local Authority Constitutional Law.
• Knowledge of Property and Planning Law

ESSENTIAL:
• Knowledge and understanding of equalities issues and legislation
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of law and procedure relating to commercial contracts, local government, public procurement and collaborative procurement with other public bodies and of GDPR and its impact on public contracts.
• Applicants must be Admitted Solicitors, Barristers or Fellows of CILEX qualified in England and, in the case of solicitors, hold (or be able to obtain) a current practising certificate. A minimum of 6+ years’ PQE is essential,
• Significant experience of providing legal advice on procurement, commercial contracts (including construction, IT and social care contracts) and governance matters
• Experience of effectively managing resources to achieve value for money and provide a high-quality service.
• Ability to draft and negotiate a variety of legal contracts and other formal documentation with the objective of preventing or minimising risk to the Client.
• A clear and systematic approach to problem solving, including the ability to assess and evaluate business risk, and to present legal risks in the context of the client’s needs
